What Is A Personal Energy Field?
Every successful business has assets, such as people, revenue, systems, and intellectual property, but there is another asset that rarely gets discussed because it can’t be measured with a spreadsheet: your personal energy field.
Your personal energy guides the quality of every decision.
Whether you call it intuition, presence, coherence, emotional intelligence, or simply “a good feeling,” most experienced business owners know that some of their best decisions don’t come from analysis alone.
They emerge from paying attention to something deeper.
At New World Energetics, I call this your Field of Intelligence (FOI)—the interaction between your thinking, intuition, relationships, values, and the wider environment in which your business operates.
Understanding that field doesn’t replace strategy; it can help make strategy more intelligent.
Your Brain Isn’t Your Only Source of Information – Your Personal Energy Field is, Too
Most leaders have experienced moments that are difficult to explain. You may meet someone and immediately trust them, or immediately don’t.
You know a project is wrong before the numbers prove it. Perhaps you walk into a meeting and sense tension before anyone speaks.
We often dismiss these experiences because they don’t fit traditional business language, yet experienced leaders rely on them every day.
Whether we describe this as intuition, pattern recognition, subconscious processing, or sensitivity to human dynamics, learning to notice these signals can become a genuine business advantage.
When I First Recognized Energy
My first experience happened when I was three years old.
Every summer my family camped on the Isle of Wight in England. Whenever one particular family friend approached me, I screamed.
Everyone assumed I was frightened of his appearance.
Years later, my mother told me that the man had repeatedly made unwanted advances toward her whenever my father wasn’t around.
At three years old, I couldn’t possibly have understood the situation – I simply knew something felt wrong.
Looking back, I see it as the first time I recognised that we often perceive information before we understand it intellectually.
Places Hold Stories Too
Many years later, while running a business in England, I visited an insurance broker who worked from a medieval house.
The moment I entered, I became aware of a persistent impression in my personal energy field that a woman had died falling down the steep staircase.
The feeling became so strong that I eventually asked him whether anyone had died there, and he became visibly shaken.
A woman had indeed died after being pushed down those stairs during an argument many years earlier; it was part of the known history of the house.
I don’t present experiences like this as scientific proof. They are simply part of my own journey of exploring intuition and how information sometimes arrives beyond ordinary reasoning.
Learning to Trust Intuition and Your Personal Energy Field
More recently, I participated in a medical intuitive training exercise, reading another participant over Zoom.
I received several impressions which were later confirmed by him.
Experiences like these remind me that intuition is not random inspiration. Like any skill, it develops through practice, observation, feedback, and humility.
Sometimes we’re right, and sometimes we’re not.
The value comes from learning discernment rather than certainty.
What Science Can—and Cannot—Tell Us
Physics has transformed our understanding of reality.
Modern physics describes the universe in terms of interacting fields rather than isolated objects.
Quantum mechanics reveals behaviour that often challenges our everyday intuition.
Some researchers and practitioners see these discoveries as inspiring ways to think about consciousness and human connection, while others caution that the science does not directly demonstrate psychic abilities or intuition.
I think it’s important to distinguish between established science and personal interpretation.
My work sits at the intersection of both: respecting scientific understanding while remaining open to human experiences that science has not yet fully explained.
Business Energetics in Practice
Business Energetics and learning to work with your personal energy field isn’t necessarily about becoming more mystical – although it can be.
It’s about becoming more self-aware. Learning to become more aware of: –
- your own patterns
- the energy you bring into a room, or into conversations
- who you naturally attract, and why
- where your intuition consistently helps you
- and where fear and energetic blocks prevent growth.
Working with awareness like this complements business strategy and approach, rather than replacing it.
When you understand how you naturally make decisions, communicate, lead, and create value, you become more authentic, more effective, and more sustainable.
That’s the foundation of the 4 Quadrants of Business Energetics.
The Future of Business Leadership
The businesses that thrive over the coming decades won’t rely on data alone, nor will they rely on intuition or our personal energy fields alone.
They will learn to integrate evidence, experience, emotional intelligence, and intuitive insight into a more complete way of leading.
That is the future I see emerging – not a choice between science and consciousness, but a conversation between them.
And perhaps that’s the greatest opportunity of all.
