The Akashic Records
If you’ve visited this site before, you’ll know that I read the Akashic Records for clients.
Previously an arena of spiritual practice only for mystics, scholars and secret societies, more and more people are embarking on their own spiritual journeys and beginning to hear about the Akashic Records, perhaps even booking a reading online.
The most commonly known reader of the Akashic Records in the United States to date was Edgar Cayce, who used to access the Records of a client by putting himself in a light hypnotic state, where he would see himself traveling to the Hall of Records and being presented with a book about the client he was reading for.
Edgar Cayce’s recommendations for health and wellness and many of his remedies are still in use today as a result.

Perhaps you’ve already experienced an Akashic Records reading and are interested in learning more.
Accessing the Akashic Records for ourselves can be a profound and enlightening spiritual experience. Many people find this activity becomes a powerful part of their own personal spiritual practice.
If you’ve read a book or two and are still feeling uncertain – at client request I created this Akashic Foundations course to help you become more comfortable with your own practice.
The coaching course has three main objectives
- to enable you to become sure when you are ‘in’ the Records, and when you are ‘out’ of the Records (this can be tricky at first…I help you develop your own personal checklist to help).
- to learn more about your intuitive abilities, your natural intuitive channels
- to help you learn more about Past Lives and the healing potentials that working with our Past Lives can contain.

Learning NLP™
During my mid-thirties I was introduced to the work of Richard Bandler, one of the co-creators of NLP (stands for Neuro-linguistic programming).
Neuro-Linguistic Programming™, or NLP™, for short, is hard to explain in a few sentences.
What I can tell you about it from my experience is that it helps us to learn…
- how we think and access states of mind
- how we can use language to shift internal experience
- how we can access internal resources more easily, feel better and get more productive
and…
- anything else we can think of!
NLP™ and the medical community…?
My business partner Nicky and I were on Richard Bandler’s course to learn about use of language.
When we got there, initially we were a little confused. There seemed to be a lot of people attending in the medical field. We were business development trainers, not medical staff!
After about half a day…we both began to get it. Piece by piece Richard was unpeeling how certain aspects of our language and behavior are constructed in ways we could learn and apply to our training courses.
NLP™ Trainer!
Snapshot…6 months later, Nicky and I were running courses teaching people to touch type in one day (clients who had little or no keyboard experience) using a carefully scripted course with specific language and creative visualization techniques we had learned with Richard Bandler.
The course worked great and kept us both quite busy for several years!
NLP™ and Parenting
As I moved into the world of parenting when my girls came along – I was more conscious than I otherwise would have been about the use of positive language and the avoidance of ‘Don’t…..___________________’ (fill in blank).
This definitely helped keep all of us calm on the parenting road.
NLP™ and Spiritual Work?
I also noticed when I was on Richard Bandler’s course that many people on the course were involved in Spiritual Work and the Spiritual Journey and were openly learning NLP™ for that purpose.
It didn’t really occur to me to make the connection at the time – I was on a different part of my Journey…now that I’m on the Spiritual path I’m beginning to understand more deeply how to combine NLP™ with Spiritual Work.
NLP™ and Intention
Richard Bandler always made it clear that learning about language patterns and being able to influence how people feel was not manipulative…it was a matter of intention.
Influence people, for sure – ideally to benefit the other person/people and yourself.
If the intention is purely self-motivated and for your own benefit…then that is up to you and you take personal responsibility for the outcome. Karma, anyone?
NLP™ and Spiritual Work – the Highest Intention
When I embarked on the Spiritual path I began to learn about the nature of intention…that when we intend something fully it sets the tone for what we are hoping to achieve. Acting without intention can often lead to different results than we…intended.
So now when working with clients and using NLP…I focus on setting the Highest Intention for the client – and asking it of them – both verbally and energetically.
It makes a huge difference.

Personal Energy Coach – what is it that you do exactly?
Recently a client asked me this question so I decided it was time to write about it!
Personal Energy Coaching and New Energy Psychology are both very new areas of work and experience for people, so it stands to reason that as a prospective client you may have questions about it.
I am a Personal Energy Coach and what I do is…
I help people to awaken to their spiritual reality, the Inner Wisdom stored within their Personal Energy, and to begin make sense of it ( I wouldn’t ever dare to say I have all the answers!).
As far as ‘answers’ go…I see my role as helping you to find your own answers. They are stored there withing your own Personal Energy. Hence the name ‘Personal Energy Coach‘.
I’m drawn to this line of work, (more like galloping towards it these days!) because it’s how I see the world and I believe humanity is going through a massive spiritual awakening right now.
What other skills/qualifications might a Personal Energy Coach have?
I’m an intuitive psychic, sensitive and natural medium.
I work with Personal Energy – I can read or unpack it, can connect with Spirit and access the Akashic Records, some people call it the ‘Book of Life’ or ‘Hall of Records’.
How this manifests is that I give Online Sessions, sometimes a Reading, sometimes Coaching, sometimes a blend and we figure out what is going on…
- where you are in your awakening process
- the best spiritual practices for you
- Normally I start by opening your Akashic Records so we get some answers from your Soul Level Truth. That usually gets the ball rolling energetically speaking!
How on earth did I end up becoming a Personal Energy Coach?
There are many odd careers out there – this just happens to be mine. 🙂
As a child I was able to see, hear, feel and sense things that others couldn’t. I assumed (as many people do as children) that what I was noticing was apparent to everyone else, it was just that people didn’t talk about it.
It took many years for me to figure out that my experiences were not necessarily the same as other people’s.
My mother had many of the same abilities but was scared to talk about them, so I followed the same path for quite a while.
Then I started waking up…
Through a number of events which I now see were connected, I began to realize that I had skills and abilities which were different than many of the people around me and that some people knew instinctively that I could help them, or that I had these abilities.
Once I started waking up, I began a Spiritual Journey which involved learning
Add to this a fairly long career in IT/Computer Support and training, plus co-directing a UK training and development company for a few years…and there you have it. A Personal Energy Coach!

A spiritual mediumship experience?
Recently I wrote a blog post about about my mum and her passing – and the unusual bedside experiences I had!
My mum, in the last stages of her life, appeared to find all of this spiritual activity quite normal…when she had spent a lot of her life not acknowledging my spiritual experiences!
She admitted that “you were right all along, Sarah”.
Through a voice in my ear that I heard asking me to repeat childhood stories to my mum (previously unknown stories to me – and more importantly – ones that she could validate), I got a firsthand experience of what it feels like to connect with our Loved Ones.
But how do we know we are really connecting with Loved Ones who have passed on through a Spiritual Medium?
If you’ve read this blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m a big John Edward fan – IMHO one of the best spiritual teachers out there about energy and energetic language…and…a spiritual medium.
What has always impressed me most about John’s work is his insistence on being the one to bring through validatable material to those seeking comfort or connection with their Loved Ones.
If you want a good reading from a Spiritual Medium, make sure you can validate the information they pass on
Validatable material is information which the spiritual medium cannot possibly know about the person who has passed or the family member(s) having the reading.
Some examples are:-
– an exact description of a photograph in somebody’s house who is the recipient of the reading
– a private family joke that no-one else would be privy to
– a sense of how the person died
– the personal likes and dislikes of the person who has passed and perhaps some other family members too, or still with us OR passed on
– what I call an ‘I see you’. A example would be ‘looking forward to the new baby’ or ‘you bought a new car! …when only the person or people receiving the reading knows that information.
How to identify if you are able to practice as a spiritual medium
What happened for me is that following my mum’s passing…I began making a lot more validatable connections with spirits who have passed.
I’ve always been fascinated with the subject matter – I’ve read lots of books by spiritual mediums and watched lots of tv programs,too.
I say a lot more validatable connections…because recently I realized that to some degree I have always been a spiritual medium – yet somehow I thought everyone noticed what I noticed and didn’t talk about it!
Spiritual mediums are sensitive to energetic imprints at locations and even within a house
Many years ago I had a creepy feeling about a house where I was having a business meeting…as if somebody had pushed their wife down the stairs at the back and she had died.
Nothing logical about it at all…I quietly asked the owner and he looked really surprised.
Pale is probably a more accurate word! Apparently it was part of the history of the house…from medieval times.
Often a Spiritual Medium’s gifts can become more active after a close family member has passed
The night that my dad passed when I was 19 and living in London, he appeared in front of me a little while before my mother’s phone call from Chichester (UK) – about 90 miles away. I was able to tell her which pajamas he was wearing before he passed.
More recently someone from my husband’s family who has passed has been making regular contact with me and I have been able to pass on validatable information which has been comforting to somebody in my husband’s family.
And the journey as a spiritual medium continues…

On the Spiritual Journey…
Recently I’ve had a couple of people ask me…what IS a spiritual journey?
Since I’m a self-proclaimed Mom On A Spiritual Journey…a blog post to answer that question is most likely in order.
The BIG one – it’s Spirituality v. Religion – or is it?
Whilst being asked this kind of question I often also get asked ‘What’s the difference between Religion and Spirituality?’
That’s a good place to start to begin to understand the concept of a Spiritual Journey.
My personal definition of Religion
First of all I’d like to write out a definition of Religion as I see it. (And this is my humble opinion here…part of the Journey is that I’m not in the business of trying to change anyone else’s beliefs or preferences – simply stating my own).
I’m a fan of Maya Angelou’s words on this subject and continue to be inspired by this recent quote of hers on Oprah Winfrey’s excellent SuperSoulSunday series.
Religion is a map
If we were to view religious practice through this lens, then we have many choices of routes on our map. We could take the low road, the high road or even perhaps Main Street.
Let’s imagine that this map has a common start point (birth) and a common ending point (aka the transition to whatever’s next after this life).
Each of us is given a map and whatever we intend to achieve in life, the agreement is that the start point and the end point are the same.
Now we can start to map out our journey
Religion offers us many routes to our destination with many different approaches to how we may get there. Most religions include spiritual practice such as prayer, ritual and even meditation. Most of the world religions have been ‘mapped out’ for more than a few lifetimes, so the way is pretty clear.
Many people love their Religious practice and live happy and successful lives as a result.
So that’s my definition of Religion in brief.
Back to the original title of this post – what is a spiritual journey?
Let’s imagine you get handed a map when you were born just like everyone else, but there are questions, so many questions that are left unanswered by the map.
Such as…
- What is a soul?
- Why is it that we all HAVE a beginning and an ending – who says?
- Do I have to do it this way?
- Most of the beliefs on this map don’t match with my belief system as I’m learning about this world – what can I do?
And more specifically in my case…
- Why can I sense energies around people? The map doesn’t say anything about that.
- How come I am able to remember Past Lives which are deeply meaningful to me – nothing on the map about that, either
- I have experiences of energies, or entities visiting me
- I have validatable spiritual experiences (the information received can be confirmed or clarified in some way)
- Where do my talents, skills and abilities come from?
Where’s the map for that? Ah, so THAT’s what the Spiritual Journey is!
The problem for me is…there is no map for that! Not in traditional religious practice (as yet)…with perhaps the exception of the Unity Church movement in the United States.
So perhaps Spiritual Journeyers are the new map makers? Maybe in 100 years time people will have evolved to the next Spiritual Journey…whatever that is.
