Talents and abilities – and your Personal Energy Field
Reading this book this week, Strengths Based Marriage: Build a Stronger Relationship by Understanding Each Other’s Gifts, and found the best definition to date regards our talents and abilities.
“Talents are not abilities, such as phenomenal golf swing or an amazing knowledge of stingrays; rather, they are inherent traits. These traits are uniquely, instinctively, and permanently yours. They are not just things you do but rather repeatable ways you see and approach life. In short, they help to make up who you are”.
Sometimes our talents can be as plain as the nose on our face, yet we ourselves don’t see them, acknowledge them or even value them if we are aware that they exist.
There’s that great saying “looking a gifthorse in the mouth”. Our gifts can be so familiar to us, that we can’t see them as something valuable.
Talents and abilities – one of mine is connectedness
For example, one of my talents is a natural sense of connectedness (also my top Strength in the Clifton StrengthFinder assessment quoted in the above book).
For many years I was aware of this talent, but because of the fear of it’s Shadow Side (or ‘counterfeit’ as viewed from the Clifton Strengthfinders’ perspective), I didn’t focus on it or use it. I feared it, to be honest.
With my particular abilities in connectedness, I could read more about people than they might like to have made public!
This is definitely a talent. After all, as a spiritual intuitive, it’s probably the main tool or skill that I rely on during readings, alongside the training and study which I regularly undertake.
As a young person, I would transmit my knowledge of a person gleaned from connectedness.
Talents and abilities can have a Shadow side, or ‘counterfeit’
In all innocence, I though it would sometimes be useful for people to know what I knew because of my ability to connect with them.
Many didn’t like it, as you might imagine! So the label counterfeit stuck onto to me was that I was ‘bossy’, ‘nosy’, and downright ‘weird’.
Yet we all have ‘hidden’ talents and therefore abilities, some hidden in plain sight (as in my case) that we can focus on, learn to value, expand and help ourselves and others become successful as a result.
After all, wouldn’t you rather have a reading or an energy session from someone who has always been able to connect energetically to others? I know I would.
So talents and abilities are hidden in our energy fields
What I also loved about this book was this amazing fact…
In the Clifton Strengthfinder model, there are 34 talents discovered so far. Initially when doing the test, it is suggested to focus on your top 5 talents. The author asks
“How many people would you need to talk to to find one other person with the same five Clifton Strengthfinder results as you, with the exact same talents sequence?
The answer is (you’d need to talk to) roughly 33 million, with the world population expected to exceed 7.4 billion in 2017. Doing the math, that means there are fewer than 225 people who have the same five talents (as) your sequence.”
In the work that I do, I know for a fact that every single client’s energy is as beautiful and individual as their fingerprints. If we are simply viewing ourselves from the perspective of our hidden talents and abilities, then we truly are as individual at the incarnated personality level here on Planet Earth, as we are at the Soul Level.
I find these numbers very empowering. We are all truly talented in our own individual right, and we are not the same!

We are all light beings
Walking through the small area of woods near my house today with my dog, I had a vision of light beings walking through the trees.
They were us, only displaying themselves in a different frequency of light.
I could see us differently.
Inside is our chi or God-light, ‘god-spark’ running through our central core and column, leg and feet, arms and hands, chests, necks shoulders and head.
We are all the same there, although as individual as a feather, as multifaceted as a diamond, as eternal as the night sky.
Then come the other parts of us that obscure us from becoming light beings
We lean into the wind of birth as pure soul aspect, pure spirit…and then we incarnate.
Learning how to use our fleshy bodies is a task we take on with joy, often laughter, at the enormity of the job at hand after floating in spirit for a while.
As we grow, we become aware of other aspects of ourselves.
We create memories, golden disks of light attached to the energy fibers behind us.
We draw on our Past Lives from those disks too, and our body’s genetic history. Then we start to wrap this story around us.
Sometimes it dims our light, sometimes it helps us and lights up a disk of light in our front fibers, where our future potentials lay. Sometimes it uncorks a surge of pain or trauma which runs in colorful streaks across our aura and our chi, blending with the golden light in places, making it less clear.
We resonate and take on from other energies around us, clunking wheel like ideas and thought forms, steam punk in nature, puffing on from centuries of use, thousands of years of over-use, but they are ours on Earth so we wear them with pride. If not that, then at least some form of comfort, for a while.
We may create new thoughts forms of our own based on the frequencies and light that we cast. Some pure and golden, some streaked with tears and other karmic colors, some dark and biting as we repeat and think to improve upon some of the ancient ideas that have kept us in their thrall for centuries.
So we cover and wrap our essential Light with our stories, our thoughts, our karma and our deepest emotions, wrapping ourselves tightly just like a living mummy on the Earth.
And then we walk and share and eat and attempt to love others, because we are angels, really. Not everyone can see our light anymore, and we certainly cannot see our own.
Not everyone can see through the layers of trauma, pain, old ideas and beliefs to the golden light within. Sometimes old ideas resonate and lock with another, experiences of lives past connect and another dance in the long karmic game is played out painfully and automatically.
Then the Lightworkers come
Those. are born who know on some level that they are golden light, golden chi, golden energy and that they may be covered by the wrappings of incarnation, but they will not take them on, or at some point they will clear them from their field.
So they begin to broadcast light. Some people feel it and are afraid. They back away, accuse, divert, deny and refuse to see their own inner light as it resonates with that of the Lightworker.
Then there are other people who are ready to drop the outer layers, the heavy clanking wheels of karma, the painful stripes of long battles of emotion and power struggles, the inherited thought patterns that serve us no longer.
And so, we let the wrappings fall. We are light beings.

Some ways in which we can pass the wisdom barrier
I read a lot of spiritual books. One of the latest I am reading is HUMAN SOUL REVEALED: Unlocking The Mysteries From Beyond – by Kryon (channeled by Lee Carroll and compiled and added to by Monika Muranyi.
I saw Monika speak at Kryon Summerlight 2016. She says she is one of those people who, even as a child, like to organize her mom’s plastic pegs into color piles for laundry day. She has become the ideal person to compose some of Kryon’s channels into books on specific subjects.
In The Human Soul Revealed, Chapter 3 discusses the attributes within the Human Soul Group as they relate to healing the physical body, healing yourself, changing your DNA and mining your Akash (Akashic Records).
Mining your Akash – meaning finding the jewels of wisdom from your past history in this life or others, and applying them to your current situation.
Kryon channels information about The Wisdom Barrier
What is a Wisdom Barrier?
Simply put it is a barrier we pass through as an individual, or in group consciousness when we learn something new and applicable.
We can never ‘go back’ to the way things were before because the Wisdom Barrier is now in the way.
Kryon gives the example of breaking the Sound Barrier at group level consciousness.
“When you broke the sound barrier, did you go home and that “That’s nice! Let’s continue to use old aircraft and old speeds from now on?” No! You could hardly wait to design aircraft that would go beyond it! Nothing remained the same, and you could not put the genie back into the bottle.”
Kryon then repeats one of his Cosmic Laws that I have covered in this series of podcasts.
“You can never go back into a less aware state”.
So, much like the Sound Barrier, as an individual on our respective spiritual journeys, when we pass a Wisdom Barrier through personal spiritual experience, we can not go back.
We can try, but the duality of this situation will cause us energetic problems and a feeling of being split in two.
This feeling can happen when
- we find out something about someone in a relationship with us, and we can never feel the same about them again, we have moved through a Wisdom Barrier and our perception is forever different.
For example, we learn of a friend or intimate partner’s deception, and we have to move through the Wisdom Barrier of a heart ‘break’ or energetic separation, and then decide can we heal enough to stay in that duality, or does the other person need to recalibrate or change too in order for us both to move through the Wisdom Barrier together and change our relationship?
- we learn a new piece of spiritual information that we were perfectly ready for, and we can never see it the same way since it changes our vibrational state. Our cells vibrate differently, our perspective changes…and we move on.
A recent example for me was learning about the difference between disembodied Spirits, Ghosts, and Poltergeists. The answer made total sense once I learned it and filled in all the gaps in understanding surrounding experiences I have had.
Now, I can’t return to the place of understanding I was in before, because I have passed through that Wisdom Barrier.
Sometimes we can feel the need to return to the place we existed before we were moved (sometimes it feels like being pushed!) through the Wisdom Barrier.
- we try to go back and live somewhere we used to love living, but it doesn’t feel the same. It’s like a ‘bad dream’ version of the place we used to live. We are sensing the duality of the vibratory rate we had when we lived in this place ‘then’, and ‘now’. We may need to find a whole new way of living in that location or move away completely to return to a sense of wholeness once again.
As Kryon says
“It is the physics of spirituality that creates an axiom that states you will never be able to return to a less aware state…If you actively choose to try, however, then you are denying the enlightenment you have been given, and you will become unbalanced. Indeed, you are able to try to move backwards. It is your free will. However, sad indeed are those humans who try to ignore what they know is the truth, for they will not last long with a dual vibratory rate”.

What is a narcissist?
There are a lot of articles on the internet about narcissists.
With a little googling we can learn some of the characteristics of a narcissist and come to the realization that being narcissistic is a personality disorder.
Here are some examples from the Mayo Clinic. A narcissist…
- Has an exaggerated sense of self-importance
- Expects to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
- Exaggerates achievements and talents
- Is preoccupied with fantasies of success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
- Believes that he/she is superior and can only be understood by or associate with equally special people
- Requires constant admiration
- Has a sense of entitlement.
If you are in contact with a narcissist, I’m sure you could add a few definitions of your own to this list.
There’s more than one type of narcissist, too
It may interest you to know that narcissists can manifest in a few different types, some examples being
- The introvert narcissist (“Oh, you don’t want to worry about me, I did this and it’s amazing, but no need to talk about it, no, no it’s fine…well if you insist…“)
- The overt narcissist (“Well yes, you know, it WAS me and I really think most people underrate me for my skills and abilities – give me some time and I’ll explain in some depth how I always get overlooked.“)
- The covert narcissist (“Let’s just stay home and we can spend all our time together, after all you know how uncomfortable I get in big crowds and I like my ‘you’ time“)
- The parasitic narcissist (“I know I said I would start looking for a job this month, but my back has flared up again and I need to take another break, you understand...”)
- The cerebral narcissist (“She’s not very clever you know, I have ten times the knowledge and I didn’t even study that subject – let me tell you what I know and how I know it…“)
- The somatic narcissist (“You know how important appearance is to me, get my green juice ready at 7 am sharp so I can get to the gym, keep in shape, have plenty of time to change – did you get to press my clean shirt?“.).
Sometimes narcissists can shift or even oscillate between 2 types of behavior to get what they need from others, somatic to cerebral, for example.
What about the narcissist’s Personal Energy Field?
Here are some things I have noticed in my travels as a Personal Energy Coach. If you want to avoid getting involved with a narcissist or recognize one in your family group or circle of friends, in my experience this is how narcissistic energy manifests.
The first thing to understand is that if you agree to regularly connect with a narcissist, you may end up becoming ‘narcissistic supply‘.
Yes, just like a drug dealer.
That means in terms of energetics quite literally, you give and the narcissist takes.
Initially, it may not seem that way. If you are in an intimate relationship or close friendship with a narcissist, you may be having a blast and be feeling wonderful, since this person is giving you so much attention, praise, and connection. It’s amazing! Just what you had always dreamed of.
And once you are emotionally (and energetically) connected, the tables will start to turn and the flow of energy will switch.
The ‘glow’ you felt at the beginning of your connection will be a vague memory, unless, that is, the narcissist feels your attention waning, in which case he/she will switch the headlights back on in your direction to top you up with some glamor love to get you back online.
The energetic difference between a narcissist and you
The difference is, quite often, that a narcissist gets their vital force, energy, ‘chi’, whatever you want to call it, from others. I know it sounds a bit scary, but the upside is they can only ever get it from you with your agreement.
If you have a regular spiritual practice and connect with g-d, the Greater Than Self, group consciousness and Gaia or put your word here _____________ then you won’t need to get your vital force from anyone else in a body, and nor would you want to.
In the case of a narcissistic personality disordered person, their energy field has been disrupted by a series of events. It could have been one huge trauma, but more often than not narcissistic habits derive from a long drawn out experience of bad parenting, an extreme trauma, or a combination of both.
You may have been subject to bad parenting of course, but in your case, as Patricia Evans would say in her amazing book Controlling People: How to Recognize, Understand, and Deal with People Who Try to Control You, you will have had a parent or carer who was a ‘compassionate witness’.
Were you a compassionate witness, or know someone who was in your life?
Your compassionate witness may have been silent, but they saw how you were mistreated and knew it was wrong.
You felt this growing up, and as a result, became aware that there was a different universe out there waiting for you than the picture the narcissist is painted in your mind.
When a narcissist is created through family trauma, it’s possible that he/she had no one present to witness their suffering, so the person came to believe that this behavior was natural and normal.
This resulted in what is termed ‘the narcissistic wound‘, an essential break or disruption in the person’s energy field
The end result of this essential wound is that a person’s own energy flow is broken between the growth of their child self and their adult self.
This, in turn, shuts down the growth of the inner world. As the individual grows, they will become aware that they are suffering an energy deficit.
To survive, the individual learns to put out energetic feelers into others’ energy fields to draw on the energy they cannot contact in their own world, to make themselves feel better.
So, can you feel when your energy is being taken? That is one way to identify a narcissist.

Why are we becoming aware of the Akashic Records in greater numbers now?
A while back when I was waiting for an Akashic Coaching Client to arrive, I asked why she and I were called together to do the work.
The Akashic Message I received was
You are both involved in work that is greater than either of you.
So a short while back I decided to ask my Masters, Teachers and Loves Ones about the Akashic Awakening
Here are my questions and their answers as this Akashic Message
Why are so many people becoming aware of the Akashic Records and the energy of the Akash at this point in time?
In the past just a few
Now so many
We hear your call
You are all tired and exhausted of the fight with the lower energies
Light is pouring in, first through the crown chakras and now many heart chakras
As you relearn and remember the old ways and refresh and renew them with new awareness
It is inevitable…even though the dark is very dark, the light becomes brighter
And we all benefit.
Why are so many people having lucid dreams and past life recall?
This is one of the most powerful tools in the Akashic Spiritual Engine.
When the brain is in Theta (Theta state) your human minds and spirits can shift into states of consciousness where these connections are simple and straightforward to you and for you.
The more people who meditate daily, even weekly…will achieve the Theta state more easily in sleep and become conscious of these Akashic connections. They have always existed…but Theta waves act as a bridge during the sleep state. Result? Lucid dreaming.
The past life recall comes through first from humans who are sincere in the heart center about dropping their karma within relationships this time around, this lifetime. So their sincerity and their heartfelt calls to Source bring them a chance to re(member) somebody and clear their past difficulties for good.
That is one of the reasons why we are seeing more enlightened and conscious relationships on Earth from this point forward and that so many people are anxious to find a true Soul Mate to work with this time around.
Crystals and Indigo Children are beginning this wave of new evolved behaviors
The other past life recall comes from the children…who as the prophet Kryon says (Lee Carroll) will ultimately be born with an awakened Akash, knowing all past lives and any Karmic duties even as they grow.
Just imagine an Israeli who remembers every pogrom and every war he has survived and can view all those events with wisdom. Just imagine a Palestinian who remembers first hand all the tribal fights and bloodshed amongst his people and is ready to clear the karma…why would he continue on in the same way?
What is this Akashic Awakening helping us remember and what is the work that is greater than us?
The essential Akashic Message is the oneness.
We are all one…if we can begin to remember the many ‘ones’ that even a single soul has been in consecutive lifetimes, then there lies unity. We are all leaning into the wind of birth in order to fulfill soul contracts and lift the vibration of the planet.
The oneness is a greater goal than any single incarnated mind can even begin to contemplate, the light of such is blinding and all-encompassing.
As Souls in incarnated bodies…when we even begin to contemplate oneness we are lifted higher.
